Adventure Quest

The Appalachian Trail District is putting on Adventure Quest next Saturday 9/6 from 9am to 3pm at Boling Park in Canton. There is a small signup fee and there will be lots of fun activities for your youth to participate in and food available for purchase. This is an individual event and you can sign up at Tentaroo Registration. You will need to set up a login to Tentaroo if you do not have one. Tentaroo is what the Atlanta Area Council uses to sign up for events so you will probably use it in the future at some point.

Trailblazer Campout

Trailblazer Campout is from 10/3 to 10/5 at Bert Adams Scout Camp in Convington, GA. Signup will be available at next pack meeting on the 8th. Cost is $40 for under 5 years old or those 18+, and $55 for others. This will include food for Saturday. You can arrive after 5:30pm Friday and please come fed or bring your dinner. As mentioned, if you wish to provide and prepare you own food for Saturday, your cost will be reduced and can let us know on the signup page. The Scouts always have a great time at this campout and will complete and earn many adventures while there. Cub camping is family based and a parent or guardian must come with your child. If you wish to have another willing adult act as their guardian please work that out with them.

Bring: tent, water bottle, flashlight, raingear (yes that pesky water does fall from the sky sometimes), clothes, sleeping bag, class A uniform, class B or other t-shirts, sleep pad optional, bathroom and showering essentials, CLOSE TOED and HEELED SHOES (that means no sandals, slides or crocks around camp. These types of shoes are not safe in a camping environment, and you and your child will not be allowed on any of the ranges to particpate in archery, BB or slingshot if worn)

There may or may not be electrical connections available depending on the site we are assigned. For those eating as part of the pack, we will be cooking meals on Saturday at the campsite. On Saturday evening the camp has a campfire program at the ampatheatre. I know from the past that sometimes parents want to skip this becuase it has been a long day. I will say typically the campfire program is a fun time for your youth and would not want them to miss it, so please encourage yourself and your scout to attend.

More details will come out as the time gets closer
